Why Steel Bar Straighten Machine Not Cut Steel Bar

Common Issues and Solutions for Steel Bar Straighten Machine

According to research by our staff, several factors can cause a steel bar straighten machine to fail to cut steel bars. The most frequent problems are the upper knife not retracting after the machine starts and intermittent or complete failure to cut. Below, our technicians provide detailed solutions for these issues.

Upper Knife Does Not Retract After Starting the Machine

If the upper knife doesn’t retract after you start the machine, follow these steps:
Check the Oil Pipeline:Ensure the oil pipeline is assembled correctly. Refer to the machine’s manual for proper assembly instructions.
Inspect the Lower Cutter:Verify that the lower cutter is not too small or causing interference. The gap between the lower cutters should be approximately 0.2 mm.
Examine the Electromagnetic Reversing Valve:Check if the electromagnetic reversing valve is functioning correctly. Ensure the line connections and electrical conditions are in order. If the valve is faulty, replace it.

Intermittent or Complete Failure to Cut

If the machine cuts intermittently or fails to cut, proceed with the following checks:
High-Pressure Inspection:Confirm that the cutting pressure is at the correct level. If there are abnormalities, adjust the pressure according to the machine’s manual.
Adjust Knife Gap:Make sure the gap between the upper and lower knives is around 0.2 mm. Adjust if necessary.
Check Relay and Disconnection Time:Verify that the delay disconnection time and relay time are properly set. These should typically be between 0.2 to 0.4 seconds.
Assess Steel Bar Strength:Ensure the steel bar’s strength does not exceed 750N. One way to test this is to try cutting a bar that was previously cut successfully by the machine.

Additional Troubleshooting

Electromagnetic Reversing Valve:If the valve is damaged or contains debris, it should be replaced or cleaned.
Inspect the AC Contactor (KA2):Look for signs of burnout at the contact points. If you find any issues, repair or replace the contactor.
Proximity Switch:If the proximity switch is damaged, replace it.
ZJ Intermediate Relay:If the relay is found to be faulty, it should be replaced.By following these troubleshooting steps, you can diagnose and resolve common issues with the steel bar straightening and bending machine, ensuring smooth and efficient operation. If the upper knife doesn’t retract, if the machine fails to cut, or if it cuts intermittently, these solutions will help you maintain production efficiency and reduce downtime.
